Clinical Preventive Services Guidelines
An ongoing project for the Policy Center has been the synthesis of clinical preventive services guidelines for middle childhood and adolescence. Faculty and staff are working on a paper, which presents methods for comparing five sets of guidelines from the American Medical Association, American Academy of Pediatrics, Maternal and Child Health Bureau, U.S. Public Health Service, and U.S. Preventive Services Task Force. The paper presents the results of the syntheses and examines issues related to implementing clinical preventive services guidelines in the middle childhood and adolescent populations. Following a final review of the literature and activity in the field, the paper will be submitted for publication. In addition, the expanded tables, which compare all of the guidelines and indicate areas of concurrence, are available in PDF on the Policy Center web site.
